About Gallery House

Gallery House is an artist-led exhibition space rooted in domestic scale, intimacy, and experimentation. It began as a living-room gallery in San Francisco, California, in 2021, in response to the global pandemic and social distancing.

Today, the space exists somewhere between home, studio, and gallery and exhibitions feel more like gatherings than spectacle. This space and context shape how work is encountered: closely, slowly, and in conversation with others.

Gallery House presents emerging and mid-career artists working across painting, sculpture, installation, sound, photography, and time-based media. We are drawn to artists whose work is in experimental stages, where process is visible in the work. Many exhibitions are site-responsive, shaped by the constraints and idiosyncrasies of domestic space—conditions that invite risk, dialogue, and forms of presentation unlikely to survive in a conventional white cube.

The program emphasizes long-term relationships over one-off shows. Exhibitions are developed in close dialogue with artists and often remain flexible through installation and duration. Conversation, connection, and offline presence are part of the work. Sales matter, but they are not the motivation. The priority is care: for artists, for context, for dialogue, and for the work.

As Gallery House grows beyond a residence, the program remains grounded in the values it was built on: intimacy and experimentation. If you are an artist, curator, or neighbor interested in contributing, please reach out.
